Part of our busyness included Emma skating in the Oktoberfest competition. She only did one program this time. She has started skating with a synchro team, so we probably will not be doing as many individual competitions.
She did so well! I am so proud of her. She has been working very hard on being consistent with her double jumps and she landed every one of them. All that hard work paid off too. She was very surprised to take home the Gold Medal. We didn't see that coming. It was a tough group. There were 6 girls in her group and they all skated extremely well.
She was very excited after the initial shock wore off. :)
I love this first picture. All of the grandmas were able to come and watch. Definitely a Kodak (or Canon) moment. My mom made Emma's headband and flower for her costume. She is amazing. She makes wedding bouquets, corsages, headbands, you name it. She has a business called Forever Flowers (you can find it here on Facebook). Thanks Mom!
It was a very fun night and I am glad that another competition is over. This mama gets too nervous.
