I love the 4th of July- BBQ's, fireworks, family- love everything about it. This year was no exception and we had an added bonus. We were able to celebrate with little Miss Penelope as she celebrated her first birthday. (Penelope is Mark's sisters baby girl and she is a-dor-a-ble!)
We started out the day with a birthday breakfast at OJ and Sherrie's house. Penny wasn't too sure about all of the people invading her territory, but she had fun opening presents and digging into (and sharing) her cake. Sherrie set up a little photo booth of sorts with props and everyone had a blast dressing up and posing.
Later that afternoon, we moved the party to Dan & Michelle's house for a swim party and BBQ. I love my new camera from Costco that takes underwater pictures- wish we would have had it in Hawaii. When it got dark, it was time for
The Cul-de-sac of Fire!
Wow- what a show. We are glad that some very cool fireworks are now legal in our state so I think it's safe to say that this was the best Cul-de-sac of Fire ever (except for the ants that kept biting our little toes.)
Ellie enjoyed the firework show for a bit, but then she was
D-O-N-E. :)
